A dinner in Kabukicho

Kabukicho is an entertainment and red-light district in Shinjuku, Tokyo, Japan. We went to an all-you-can-eat restaurant where you fry any skewer you like in the center of the table. We then visited this very peculiar district. In Kabukicho, male escorts are recognized by their distinctive hair style (see below: yes, they are males!)

Tokyo national museum

The Tokyo national museum contains diverse exhibitions of Japanese cultural heritage. We focused our short visit on the Samurai swords and armor!

Ueno park

After Asakusa, we went to Ueno park, taking a break from the busy streets (the paths in Ueno park are actually quite busy too!). Major attractions in Ueno park include a zoo (that we did not visit) and the Tokyo national museum.

Some wildlife in Tokyo!

kappa bashi

On our way to Ueno Park, we took Kappa Bashi (Kappa Street) where we saw many Kappa along the way. I tried hard to integrate myself to the local culture.

Asakusa

After this first night in Japan, I feel quite hungry, so we set to a convenience store where you find so many ready-to-eat meals. Our next stop : Asakusa, an area of Tokyo that conserved some historical appeal. The main attraction of Asakusa is the Sensoji temple. There we met a very nice rickshaw driver who carried us around.

The following video shows pieces of our rickshaw ride and a short scene at the Seisouji temple.
